Assistant Athletic Trainer


Joe Parry has been with the University of San Diego since July of 2005. He began as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer until June of 2007 when he was hired as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. His primary job responsibilities include prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries as well as coordination of medical care for the student athletes. Before his time at USD he was a student intern with S.D. Mesa College as well as U.C. San Diego.

His current sport assignments are with the football, baseball and the women's swim and dive team. He is a preceptor for the San Diego State University Athletic Training Educational Program and supervises Athletic Training Students assigned to USD. Joe played football at College of the Desert before serving a 2 year LDS mission, he then finished his Bachelor and Masters Degrees at SDSU in 2007. His graduate thesis was published in the August 2012 issue of the Journal of Sports Rehabilitation.

He is a Las Vegas native who has resided in the San Diego area since 2002. He lives in the Clairemont Mesa area with his wife Mandy and their 3 daughters Ryan, Taylor and Bailey. Mandy is a probation officer for the County of San Diego.
