Emily Abay began dancing at the age of 5 at the Wichita School of Performing Arts (WSPA) in her hometown of Wichita, Kansas. She has danced for almost 14 years and has trained in ballet, tap, modern, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and pointe. At WSPA she assistant taught elementary ballet and tap classes, while she also coached the 8th grade cheer team of her middle school St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. She attended Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School where she was a 4-year member of the Varsity Dance team. While on the dance team, she and her teammates won two 1st place trophies in their elite team-dance division at the National Dance Alliance. Through National Dance Alliance, Emily was an All-American Nominee her junior year of high school and an All-American Dance Team member her senior year.

Here at the University of San Diego, Emily is very excited to continue dancing and cheering with the Torero Spirit Team. As a freshman, she is in the Honors Program and hopes to major in Behavioral Neuroscience and maybe pursue a career in medicine.
