Long K's 9, but Errors Doom Toreros

SOPHOMORE (2013): Played in 40 games with 21 starts as an infielder for the Toreros...helped lead the team to the 2013 WCC Tournament championship, and into the NCAA Regionals...hit .301 with 31 hits, five doubles, two home runs and 28 RBI...named to the All-Tournament team of the WCC Tournament after hitting .388 with seven hits, two doubles, one home run and six RBI...went 3-for-6 with a double and three RBI against BYU (5/23)....went 3-for-4 with one double, one home run and four RBI against San Francisco (5/24)...went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI against Cal Poly (6/2).

FRESHMAN (2012): Bailey was selected as a Freshman All-American by Louisville Slugger and was also named to the WCC All-Freshman Team and was an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection... Appeared in 54 games, while starting 41 at second base... Hit .273 with 20 RBI, seven doubles, and 23 runs... Went 3-for-5 against Cal State Northridge on March 3, 2012, with three RBI and one run... Went 2-for-4 against San Diego State on March 20, 2012, with a triple and a season-high four RBI.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at Great Oak High School for coach Eric Morton...His junior year his batting average was .495 where he hit four homeruns, 16 doubles, had 15 stolen bases, and 31 RBI...he was MVP if the Southwestern League and first-team all CIF...His senior year his batting average was .447 where he hit six homeruns and had eight stolen bases...he was first-team All-Southwestern League, second-team All-State and he set the school record for hits.

PERSONAL: Austin Lisi Bailey was born on July 7, 1992...he is the son of Scott and Beth Bailey in Wildmar, CA...he was also recruited by Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside, Arizona, UCLA, and Long Beach State...he chose USD because of the baseball program, the academics they had to offer and the location...he has also raced dirtbikes since he was three.
