JUNIOR (2012): Appeared in 21 games, starting nine at catcher... Hit .200 with one home run and 4 RBI... Went 2-for-5 with one RBI at Brigham Young on May 4, 2012.
JUNIOR (2011):Took a medical redshirt after 6 game starts as an outfield/designated hitter...batted .158 with a .211 slugging percentage and a .304 on base percentage...had 3 hits in 19 at bats with one stolen base...went 3-for-4 against Winthrop on February 19, 2011, with one double, two singles and one run scored.
SOPHOMORE (2010): In his second season for the Toreros he played in 40 games with 21 starts... Used mostly as an outfielder and batted .288 (23-for-80) with 16 RBI, .348 on-base percentage and .425 slugging percentage... Helped lead the team to the 2010 WCC Championship...Had a season-high three hits at Coastal Carolina (3/28/10) when he was 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base... went 3-for-3 with an RBI against Gonzaga (4/25/10)...Had a season high in RBI against Rice (3/21/10) when he went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a triple...went 2-for-4 with one home run against Cal State Fullerton (3/2/10).
FRESHMAN (2009): In his debut season with Toreros, he played in 40 games (35 starts)...possessed a .287 batting average (33-for-115) with a .470 slugging percentage...went 2-for-3 with a walk in his college debut vs. Southern (2/20)...after starting the season batting .227 in his first 29 games, he posted a .400 batting average (16-for-40) in 11 games to close out the season...hit two home runs, including his first collegiate home run, against Portland (4/26)...on May 1st, connected for two more round trippers at LMU in a 3-for-4 performance...against San Francisco on 5/8, he was a perfect 4-for-4 (2-2B, HR) at the plate, driving in a season-high four runs...also pitched in two games, throwing 1.0 inning against Cal State Fullerton on 4/21 and adding 0.1 IP against San Francisco on 5/9.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at nearby Patrick Henry High school...was drafted in the 43rd round by the Houston Astros in the 2008 MLB draft...as a senior he hit .444, had 13 doubles, five home runs and 27 RBI en rout to a first-team All-Eastern League and first-team All-CIF distinctions...as a senior he helped his team win the Eastern League championship and post a 20-1 overall record...as a junior, he hit .462 with 11 doubles, three home runs and 28 RBI...was named first-team All-League and second-and team All-CIF as a junior...also played water polo all four years, where he was named the Eastern League MVP as a senior.
PERSONAL: Austin Green was born on Feb. 22, 1990 in San Diego...he is the son of Julie Fisher and Darrell Green...was heavily recruited by Long Beach State, Oregon, San Diego State and UC Riverside...chose to attend USD because of the outstanding baseball program, the academic reputation and the weather in San Diego.
