SOPHOMORE (2015): Made 20 appearances... had a 4.24 ERA with 55 strikeouts, 14 walks, 28 runs, and 59 hits with 57 innings of work... helped lead the team to the WCC championship...had five strikeouts in 4.0 innings of work against Dallas Baptist (2/20/15)...had perhaps his best outing in the WCC Tournament, when he came on in relief and allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out a career-high 10 in 5.1 innings of work against Pepperdine (5/22/15)...recorded five strikeouts against Pepperdine (5/10/15)...recorded five strikeouts against UC Irvine (3/31/15).

Freshman (2014): Made 21 appearances... had a 2.82 ERA with 28 strikeouts, 23 walks, 17 runs, and 30 hits in 38.1 innings of work... had five strikeouts and one walk in 3.0 innings of work against Northern Kentucky (2/2).

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Junipero Serra High School...as a senior, he posted a 9-1 record, with 79 strikeouts and had a 0.74 ERA in 56.0 innings of work...as a senior he was named the Eastern San Diego League Pitcher of the Year, named first-team All-League and set the school record for best single-season ERA at 0.74, and most single-season wins...as a junior, he went 4-3 with 59 strikeouts, and posted a 1.27 ERA in 49.2 innings of work en route to a First-Team All-League selection...as a sophomore, he posted a 3-4 record with 51 strikeouts and had a 3.60 ERA in 46.2 innings of work...as a sophomore he was named second-team All-League.

PERSONAL: Carl Joseph Burdick was born on Aug. 19, 1994 in La Jolla, Calif....he is the son of Cathy Newcomb and Mark Burdick...was also recruited by Point Loma...chose to attend USD because of the baseball program, the beautiful stadium and amazing school...his father Mark Burdick played baseball at Cal Poly, and his grand father Robert Burdick played baseball at USC...notes he threw a 2-hiter to help lead his team to their first ever league championship.
