Baseball Preps for Road Swing

USD travels to UCI and Gonzaga this week.


Five More Toreros Drafted

Andrew Daniel, Max MacNabb, Lucas Long, Josh Goossen-Brown, and Brandon Show were all selected today in the MLB draft.


Seven Toreros Earn All-WCC Honors

Connor Joes becomes sixth USD player to earn WCC Player of the Year since 2007


Toreros Outlast Waves, 5-4 in 11 Innings

Connor Joe hit an RBI single in the 11th to lift USD to victory.


Toreros Cruise Past Gaels, 6-2

USD runs its winning streak to four with the win.

SOPHOMORE (2013): Played at Dakota County Tech College, and helped the team with the 2013 Region 13 championship.

FRESHMAN (2012): Played at the University of Arizona, where he helped the team win the 2012 College World Series.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Academy of Holy a senior, he posted an impressive 1.20 ERA with 81 strikeouts, and only issuing eight walks en route to earning All-Missota Conference, and All-State honors...he was tabbed the MVP pitcher and player as a senior and was a Mr. Baseball a junior, he posted a 1.7 ERA, while striking out 73 batters and only issuing six walks in 60.0 innings of work...also lettered in football.

PERSONAL: Lucas Long was born on Oct. 7, 1992 in Minneapolis, Minn...he is the son of Martin Borts and Deborah Long...was also recruited by Arizona, Minnesota and Missouri...chose to attend USD because of the beautiful campus, the great city and outstanding coaching staff...notes that he loves fishing, golf and being active outside.
