FRESHMAN (2013): Made 25 appearances with 10 starts posting a 9-1 overall record and a team-leading 2.16 ERA, while striking out 71 batters, only issuing 28 walks in 87.1 innings of work...named first-team All-WCC...helped lead the team to the WCC Tournament championship, and into the NCAA Regionals...became first freshman in USD history to begin a season 9-0...named WCC Pitcher of the Week once...threw one complete game shutout, in his first USD start, against San Francisco, allowing no runs on six hits, while striking out five...recorded a career-high nine strikeouts in a win against Santa Clara, allowing no runs on five hits over 6.2 innings of work (4/21)...recorded seven strikeouts against BYU in the opening round of the WCC Tournament, allowing three runs on five hits in 6.0 innings of work (5/23)... had a stretch of 19 consecutive innings without allowing a single run to cross the plate overt the course of four outings.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at El Dorado High School...posted a 10-4 overall record in two seasons, while posting a 2.15 career ERA and 111 strikeouts...as a junior, he recorded a 4-3 record with a 1.98 ERA, recorded 48 strikeouts, issued 16 walks in 42.0 innings of work, while also hitting .300 with 16 RBI...as a senior, he posted a 6-1 record, with a 1.63 ERA, while striking out 54 batters, issuing 15 walks in 60.0 innings of work, while also hitting .363 with 14 RBI...as a senior, he was a Rawlings All-California Region Team selection, a All-Century League performer, All-CIF Division I team member and an All-Orange Country Team honoree.
PERSONAL: Patrick Joshua "PJ" Conlon was born on Nov. 11, 1993 in Belfast, N. Ireland...he is the son of Patrick and Susan Conlon...was highly recruited by UCLA, Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, Long Beach State, Utah and UC Davis...chose to attend USD because of the strong relationship he formed with the USD coaching staff, the location and out standing baseball program, and because of the excellent academic reputation of the university...his father Patrick played soccer at Cal State Fullerton.
