JUNIOR (2016): Started 21 games out of the 28 played in 2016... Hit .313 on the season with three home runs, 12 total runs and 12 RBI... went 6-for-11 in the series at BYU (4/7-9) with five total RBI, a double and a home run... Went 2-for-4 against San Diego State (4/12)... went 4-for-8 in two games of the Santa Clara series (4/15-17) with three RBI, a double, and a home run... Went 2-for-4 against San Francisco (4/22)... went 4-for-9 in the first two games against Portland (4/29) with a home run, two RBI and a double.
PREVIOUS COLLEGE: Played at Southwestern College...hit .347 with three home runs, had a slugging percentage of .500, with a .407 OBP, and he had 32 RBI...was named first-team All-Conference after leading his team to a 29-10 overall record.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Eastlake High School...as a senior, he hit .402 with nine home runs en route to a first-team All-Metro League selection, and he was a 2013 Al-Academic baseball team member as well...as a junior, he hit .402 with nine doubles and two home runs en route to a fist-team All-Metro League selection, and he was a 2012 All-Academic baseball team member as well.
PERSONAL: Roman Garcia was born on November 22, 1995 in Coronado, Calif....he is the son of Francisco Garcia...was also recruited by UC Santa Barbara and San Bernardino State...chose to attend USD because of the beautiful campus, the low teacher to student ratio, great national ranking, the school offers what he wants and the outstanding baseball program.
