Corey LeVier moved Jon Hotta, who was pinch running for Checkal, to second on a single to left field, and Kris Bryant then drove in Hotta with an RBI single to left field to give USD a 3-2 lead.

The Toreros offense continued to roll, as they scored in the third consecutive inning, pushing across a pair of runs in the top of the sixth on a Bryan Haar two-run double down the left field line to extend the Torero lead to three at 5-2.
