SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Behind a complete game shutout from freshman pitcher PJ Conlon, the University of San Diego baseball team cruised to a 7-0 West Coast Conference win over the University of San Francisco Sunday afternoon at Fowler Park.

With the win, the Toreros improve to 26-18 overall, and move to 10-8 in the WCC. With the loss, the Dons fall to 24-17 overall and 11-7 in the WCC.

Conlon (7-0) was nothing short of masterful in Sunday's performance, as he scattered six hits, and didn't allow a single run, while striking out five batters. With the 9.0 innings of work this afternoon, Conlon has now run his scoreless inning streak to 19, and he became the first Torero to register a complete game this season,. Conlon is also the first Torero to throw in 7.0 innings since Michael Wagner did it back on March 1 against Gardner-Webb.

The Toreros wasted no time in scoring, as they managed to put across the only two runs they would need in the bottom of the second inning. AJ Robinson was hit by a pitch to lead off the frame, and he moved to third on Austin Green's double to left field. Chris Woolley then hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield, which scored Robinson, and moved Green to third. Louie Lechich then drove in Green on a sacrifice fly to centerfield to give USD a 2-0 lead.

USD then scored one run int he third, one in the fifth, before putting the game completely out of reach in the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh, USD scored three runs on three hits. The USD runs came on an Austin Bailey RBI single, a Robinson run-scoring double down the right field line and Green RBI single up the middle to put the game at its final of 7-0.

Offensively for the Toreros, Green led the way, as he went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Connor Joe also had a good day at the plate, as he went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

The Toreros will return to action on Tuesday, as they host Cal State Northridge in a 6 p.m, non-conference game at Fowler Park.
