SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Junior All-American Kris Bryantwas named Collegebaseballinsider.com's National Player of the Week.
Bryant, a 6-5 third basemen from Las Vegas, Nev., helped the Toreros open up WCC play with a sweep of BYU. Bryant went 5-for-12 (.417) with four home runs and eight RBI. He was slugging at a 1.417 clip and had an on base percentage of .588.
Bryant began the week with a perfect 3-for-3, three home run and six RBI performance on Thursday against BYU. Bryant also hit a walk-off three-run homer to lift USD to the win. Bryant then concluded the week with another walk-off 2-run home run in the 14th inning on Saturday against BYU. In this game, Bryant went 2-for-6 with 2 RBI and he was walked two times.
Bryant and the Toreros return to action this Friday when they travel to Spokane (Wash.) for a three game series with conference foe Gonzaga (11-6-1, 2-1).
