SAN DIEGO, Calif. - USD junior third baseman Kris Bryant was named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic team announced on Friday. Bryant (Las Vegas, Nev.) was USD's lone representative on the all-academic team that featured nine repeat honorees overall, including Bryant, who earned all-academic honors last year as well.

Bryant, a finance major, boasts a 3.2 GPA while also currently leading the conference and the NCAA in home runs (30), RBI (61) and walks (57). Overall on the year, Bryant is hitting .338 with 12 doubles and three triples. Bryant is also one of 60 collegiate players currently on the Golden Spikes Watch List for the annual national amateur player of the year award.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
