(San Diego, CA) - XX Sports Radio (1090 AM and 105.7 FM) has announced that they will carry USD's NCAA Regional baseball games at Tony Gwynn Stadium this coming weekend. Chris Ello (play-by-play) and John Kentera (color analyst) will call the action for the 4th-ranked USD baseball team (43-16). The Toreros, seeded No. 8 nationally in the 64-team NCAA playoffs, will kick off the weekend on Friday, June 1st, when they take on No. 4 seed Fresno State (36-27) in the second game at 8:00 pm. Cal State Fullerton (33-23), the No. 2 seed, will take on No. 3 seed Minnesota (40-16) in the 4 p.m. game on Friday.
On Saturday, June 2nd, XX Sports Radio will only carry USD's game if they are in the 8:00 p.m. contest due to Padres Baseball commitments. Sunday's game (4 pm or 8 pm) and Monday's game (8 pm), if necessary, will also be picked up by XX Sports Radio.
"We are very pleased that XX Sports Radio will be able to cover Toreros Baseball this weekend through the NCAA Regional Championships," stated Ky Snyder, USD Executive Director of Athletics. "Our partnership continues to grow and this will provide everyone in Southern California access to the University of San Diego's run into the NCAA Baseball Championships."
