The Cubs have put Kris Bryant on the fast track.
After just 18 games at short-season Boise, the No. 2 overall pick will head to High-A Daytona, bypassing Low-A Kane County on the way.
Bryant, 21, hit .354 with four homers, 16 RBIs and a 1.108 OPS in 77 plate appearances with the Boise Hawks. He struggled out of the gate in his professional career after a long layoff between the end of his college season and his first game action in the Cubs system.
