(San Diego, Calif.) - Behind 21 points and 13 rebounds from senior forward Dennis Kramer the Toreros dealt Pacifica College an 84-47 loss to improve to 8-3 on the season. Junior guard Johnny Dee chipped in with 16 points and all thirteen Toreros that saw action ended up in the scoring column. Kramer's 13 rebounds was a new career-high while his 21 points was one point shy of his career-best set against Portland. The Toreros return to the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Sunday for a tough test against a very good UC Santa Barbara club.

Pacifica College played a strong first half in staying within eleven points at 42-31. By the intermission break Kramer already had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Dee had totaled 13 points. The Gladiators were paced by John Garnica's 12 points in the first 20 minutes of action as he buried 4-of-7 three-pointers.

In the second half the Torero defense, which ranks in the top-25 in field goal percentage defense and three-point percentage defense, held Pacifica to 20% shooting from the field (6-30) and just 1-of-10 from beyond the arc. For the game Pacifica shot just 29.8% overall (17-57), while the Toreros managed an even 50% (35-70). USD also dominated in the rebounding department with a 59-22 edge.

Junior center Simi Fajemisin chipped in with a career-best 10 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, while Brett Bailey added 6 points and 5 rebounds. Pacifica (0-8) was paced by Garnica's 15 points.
