(San Diego, CA) - University of San Diego men's basketball head coach Bill Grier and his staff announced the signing of Duda Sanadze (Tbilisi, Georgia) to a scholarship agreement for the upcoming 2012-13 season. Sanadze, a 6'5", 185 lb. shooting guard, closes out Coach Grier's recruiting class for the 2012-13 campaign.

"We are fortunate to sign a player of Duda's caliber so late in the year," said USD head coach Bill Grier. "He can really score the ball and has tremendous range on his jump shot. He has a good feel for the game and knows how to play. I think his biggest adjustment will be defensively as he learns to play against quicker players".

Sanadze has been competing with the U20 European Championship Men's Division A team. In 9 games he averaged 17.2 points per game, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists. His 17.2 ppg average ranked second among all U20 European players in 2012. He scored 20 or more points four times with a high of 27 against Sweden and a 25 point effort against Turkey. In 2011, playing for the U20 European Championship Men's Division B squad, he played in 9 games and averaged 12.2 points and 3.8 rebounds. He scored in double figures in six of the contests with a high of 19 against Bulgaria. In 2009 and 2010 he competed with the U18 European Championship Men's team and in 2010 averaged 18.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

Sanadze joins a 2012-13 recruiting class that includes Trey Guidry, a 6-6 freshman forward from St. Pius X High School in Houston, Texas; Mike Davis, a 6-2 junior guard from Houston, Texas who played two years at Texas Tech; and Jito Kok, a 6-9 freshman forward-center from Wageningen, Netherlands.
