Men's Rowing Has Good Showing at Crew Classic
USD had a good showing in the first day of the Crew Classic.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. ¬ The University of San Diego men's rowing team had a good showing at the first day of the San Diego Crew Classic out at Mission Bay.

In the Men's Collegiate Varsity B American Specialty Health Cal Cup, USD's varsity 8 boat finished in third place, with a time of 6:14.59, just one second behind the Drexel Boat for second and four seconds off the pace set by Notre Dame. USD did finish ahead of Pac-12 member UCLA, Rollins, Arizona State and cross-town rival San Diego State, who was in seventh place of seven teams, 40 seconds behind the Toreros.

In the Men's Collegiate 2V B Sharp Cabrillo Cup, USD managed to finish with a time of 6:35.05. Harvard won this heat with a time of 5:58.70, while second place went to Cornell, UC Davis was third, UC San Diego came in fourth and behind USD in sixth was UCLA and OCC finished in seventh.

In the Men's Open B Joan Ward Memorial Trophy race, the Toreros managed to finish third with a time of 6:45.38, just six seconds off the pace of UC San Diego for second. The USC Trojans finished in first, while UC Santa Barbara was fourth and Lincon Park was fifth respectfully.

The Toreros will return to the water on Sunday, as the Crew Classic comes to an end out at Mission Bay.
