SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's rowing team returns to action on Mission Bay this weekend, Saturday April 6th and Sunday April 7th, for the one and only San Diego Crew Classic.
Saturday's racing kicks off with heats in the Varsity 8 in the Men's Collegiate Varity - Cal Cup @ 8:20AM, followed by the Frosh/Novice 8 in the Derek Guelker Memorial Cup @ 10:40AM. USD will then cap off the opening day festivities with the Open 8 competing in the Joan Ward Memorial Trophy @ 2:40PM.

Friday, April 5th @ 6:00PM - Reception in the Warren Hospitality Suite within the Jenny Craig Pavilion (JCP). This event is not to be missed, it will be a truly extraordinary moment in USD Men's Crew history!!! All Parents, All Alumni and All Friends are greatly encouraged to attend. Saturday, April 6th @ 7:00PM - After the day's racing, there will be a gathering at the Offshore Tavern and Grill http://www.offshoretavern.com/ This will be a great opportunity to reconnect, share memorabilia and wish each other luck in the races on Sunday. Rumor has it that the '86 guys and some others are going to be sporting their original letterman's jackets!!! No reservations needed, we already have an area blocked off for us.
Sunday, April 7th ALL DAY - Races throughout the morning and early afternoon, the traditional BBQ and making plans for future Alumni Boats, Alumni Races and the future of USD Rowing. The 2014 Crew Classic will mark the 25th Anniversary for the class of 1989!!!
