First practice slated for Wednesday, August 8th, at 9:30 a.m.
Hank Fraley, who spent 10 years in the NFL as an offensive lineman, enters his first year as an assistant coach for the Toreros where he will oversee the offensive line unit. He began his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2000. He debuted in 2001 with the Philadelphia Eagles where he stayed through the 2005 campaign. He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns (2006-2009) and St. Louis Rams (2010). Overall he played in 142 games with 123 starts, as well as 10 postseason starts, including Super Bowl XXXIX with the Eagles. Although he spent most of his time at center, he also started at guard and saw action at right tackle early in his career.
"I am excited to announce the addition of Hank Fraley to our staff," said head coach Ron Caragher. "Hank's understanding of offensive line fundamentals, the run game, and pass protection schemes will be an asset to our program. Additionally, his experience as a veteran player in the NFL will be a benefit to our team."
From Gaithersburg, Maryland, Fraley was a three-time All-America selection and a three-time first-team All-Northeast Conference choice at tackle while attending Robert Morris. Selected as the Football Gazette's Lineman of the Year and his team's Co-Most Valuable Player in 1999, he graduated with a degree in social science. Hank and his wife Danielle have four sons - Trent, Mason, Travis and Beau.
