USD: Fourth-year Torero will compete with defensive secondary at safety... In 2012 started all 11 contests... Ranked 5th on team with 44 tackles (24 solo) to go with 1 interception (Davidson)... Season best 8 tackles at Davidson... 7 stops at Cal Poly... 6 tackles in three other contests... Appeared in all 11 contests in 2011 for the Toreros... Tied for sixth on the team with 40 tackles (29 solo)... Career-high 10 tackles in 48-44 victory at Morehead State... Interception at University of Dayton in 31-28 win... Named 2011 Most Improved Defensive Player and to 2011 PFL All-Academic First Team... Appeared in 10 contests in 2010... Season-high 9 tackles against Valparaiso... Chipped in eight tackles against UC Davis... Finished 10th on the team in total tackles with 25 (nine solo)... Named to PFL Honor Roll... Was a redshirt in 2009.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended La Jolla HS...honored as the Brent Woodall Award winner, which is given to the most well-rounded student-athlete at La Jolla High...led the Vikings in rushing yards and touchdowns during his senior year...1st-team All-Western League performer during his senior year, as well as being named Team Iron Man award winner...in his junior year, earned his second Defensive Coach's Award and was named to the 2nd-team All-Western League...recorded the 3rd-most career tackles for defensive backs at La Jolla High...also a three-time letterman in baseball.
PERSONAL: Born on November 9, 1990 in San Diego, CA...Parents are Mark and Rhonda Beathard of San Diego, CA...Chose USD for its competitive football team, great education, and perfect location...Also recruited by Columbia, University of Redlands, Pomona-Pitzer, and Occidental College...Named to USD's Dean's List... Would like to go to medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon.
