Christian Fetters earns PFL All-Academic Honors

March 8, 2011

(San Diego, CA) - Junior offensive lineman Christian Fetters (Fresno, CA) has been named to the 2010 Academic All-Pioneer Football League squad. The Torero junior, who has been a starter since his freshman campaign and was named USD's Offensive Lineman of the Year, carries a 3.16 grade-point average as a Mechanical Engineering major. He was named to the Second Team for offense. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his career.

Fetters was joined by 43 other Toreros who were named to the league's Academic Honor Roll for the fall 2010 semester. USD was one of five PFL schools to boast 40 or more student-athletes on the honor roll this season. Pioneer Football League athletic directors and coaches established the honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.
