SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego football team had a pair of Toreros selected to the Consensus Draft Services' Preseason All-America teams, highlighted by defensive end Mario Kurn being named first-team and corner back Al-Rilwan Adeyemi taking home second-team honors.

Kurn, a 6-2 senior from Encinitas, Calif., was the top Football Championship Subdivision player in quarterback sacks this past season (17 for -118 yards) and ranked second in tackles for loss (27 for -141 yards). Through 11 games he totaled a team-best 66 tackles (38 solo), along with chipping in two forced fumbles, seven quarterback hurries, five pass break-ups and five pass deflections. Kurn was a first-team All-PFL performer last season, as well as Associated Press FCS All-America second-team honoree for defense and The Sports Network's 2010 FCS All-America first-team honoree.

Adeyemi, a 5-9 senior from Santa Monica, Calif., finished the 2010 season with a team-best six interceptions (66 return yards), and finished tied for second with 48 tackles. Adeyemi was also a first-team All-Pioneer Football League selection this past season.

The Toreros kick off their 2011 season on September 3 with a road game at Azusa Pacific University. Kick-off is set for 6 pm.
