USD: Appeared in ten of the twelve regular-season tournaments... Ranked second on the team with his 73.11 scoring average (27 rounds)... Tied for 6th at the Bill Cullum Invitational (69-70-72, 211), and twice tied for 8th overall at The Farms Collegiate Invite (69-78-71, 218) and WCC Championships (71-72-75, 218)... Selected 2014 All-WCC honorable mention... Turned in four rounds under 70 with a best of 68 (Warrior Princeville Makai Invitaitonal)... Competed in seven tournaments during his freshman campaign (2012-13)... Finished with a scoring average of 76.25 (20 rounds)... USD's top finisher at the NCAA Regionals in Tallahassee, Florida with his 220 total (72-70-78), good for a tie for 42nd overall... Tied for 13th at The Farms Collegiate Invitational that USD hosted with a three-round total of 224 (81-71-72).

HIGH SCHOOL: Chiarella comes to USD as Hawaii's number one junior player. Some of his many accomplishments include: being a three-time Hawaii State Junior Golf Association King Auto State Championship winner (2011, 2010, 2009); named the 2010 HSJGA Player of the Year; placed 10th at the 2010 Aloha PGA Hawaii State Open; had lowest scoring average in Maui Interscholastic League all four years; two-time League Individual Champion; and is a 3-time Junior America's Cup, Hawaii member (2009-2011; he tied for 11th in 2010). He won the 2011 Hali'imaile Pineapple Company Tournament of Champions over December 3-4. Chiarella won by four strokes as his 8-under par 136 total (66-70) was four strokes better than two runner-up players, as well as 8 stokes clear of Aaron Kunitomo, who signed a 2012 NLI with UCLA. The event was held at the Wailea Golf Club and played on the Emerald Course. In his first round 66, Chiarella carded 9 birdies in shooting 32-34. The win gave him entry into the Sony Skins Challenge in Oahu, an event he competed in two years ago with Matt Kuchar.

PERSONAL: Son of Reta and Albert Chiarella... Born June 2, 1994 in Honolulu... Came to USD for the golf team, the location, the weather, and for USD's strong academics... Also recruited by Arizona State and Oregon State... Played basketball where he was the team's second-leading scorer and named to the Maui Interscholastic League's Second Team... Enjoys hiking in Hawaii and meeting new people.
