(Chula Vista, Calif.) - The USD men's golf team finds itself in 5th place with one round to go at the 2014 Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic being played at the San Diego Country Club (par 72; 7,033 yards). The Toreros shot a two-round team total of 4-over par 580 (287-293). Co-host San Diego State (570; 283-287) is the clubhouse leader and the 22nd-ranked USC Trojans (572; 286-286) are second in the 13-team event. SDSU's Xander Schauffele is the individual leader at 6-under par 138 (67-71).

USD's Taylor Schmidt is tied for second overall at 140 (71-69) with USC's Rico Hoey (71-69). Following Schmidt in the Torero team scoring is Alex Chiarella (18th at 145; 71-74), Grant Forrest (T21 at 147; 74-73), Mathias Dahl (T35 at 150; 71-79) and Skyler Finnell (T67 at 159; 82-77). USD Toreros playing as individuals include Joe Carlson (T46 at 152; 75-77), Nick Baines (T46 at 152; 76-76), and Mike Bosco (81st at 167; 81-86). Will Twitty had to withdraw due to injury.

Tomorrow's final round will tee off at 8:00 a.m. on holes one and ten.
