After day one and two rounds of play at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, USD junior Grant Forrest is the leader in the clubhouse with his 6-under par 138 score (70-68) on the historic San Diego Country Club course (par 72, championship tees) in Chula Vista, California. The Toreros are currently in sixth place with a two-round team total of 591 (298-293). Co-hosting the event with USD is the San Diego State Aztecs who hold down the top spot with a two-round team score of 574 (290-284). Final round play is Tuesday morning.

Three strokes behind Forrest at 141 are two players tied for second - Finley Ewing of Texas TEch (70-71) and Austin Kaiser of SDSU (72-69). Rounding out USD scoring is Mathias Dahl (T41 at 152; 78-74), Alexis Gemme-Piacente (T41 at 152; 77-75), Alex Chiarella (T51 at 153; 73-80) and Taylor Schmidt (T58 at 154; 78-76).
