(Tempe, AZ) - The USD golf team shot a first round team score of 283 (-1) and find themselves in 4th place (15 teams) with two rounds to go at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational (Karsten Golf Course on ASU campus). Host ASU leads after totaling 271 (-13), and are followed by Iowa (278) and Iowa State (279). USD's Joe Carlson fired an opening round 69 (-2) and is tied for 8th overall with ASU's Jon Rahm shooting an outstanding 62 (-9).

Other USD players competing include Grant Forrest (70, T12th), Alex Chiarella (71, T22nd), Taylor Schmidt (73, T44th) and Mathias Dahl (77, T67th). Mike Bosco, playing as an individual shot an opening round 77 (T67th). Second round play begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
