ASUfinalresults Get Acrobat Reader

(Tempe, AZ) - The USD men's golf team turned in a strong showing this weekend at the 41st annual ASU Thunderbird Invittional at ASU's Karsten Golf Course (par-71, 7,026) by placing third overall out of eighteen teams. USD finished with a 5-under par total of 847 (289-275-283). UNLV won team honors at 843 (-9) by edging out runner-up Cal by one stroke. Oregon State's Nick Chianello held on for medalist honors with his 11-under par total of 202 (64-68-70).

USD sophomore Grant Forrest placed 4th by himself with his 7-under par 206 (68-68-70). He was followed by teammates Taylor Schmidt (T11 at 212; 76-67-69), Linus Vaisanen (T23 at 216; 74-68-73), Joe Carlson (T33 at 217; 71-72-74) and Alexis Gemme-Piacente (T43 at 219; 76-72-71). Mike Bosco, playing as an individual, fired a final round 77 and finished at 241.

Next up for the USD Toreros is the West Coast Conference Championships April 15-17 at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington.
