(Sugar Grove, Ill.) - The USD Toreros improved on day two of the Northern Intercollegiate as they turned in a team score of 300, twenty-one shots better than their opening round on Friday. Junior Grant Forrest (North Berwick, Scotland) led the Toreros with an impressive 3-under par 69. As a team USD moved up one spot to 13th, while Forrest jumped 41 spots into a tie for 30th. Houston (572, -4) leads with one round to go as Cougar Roman Robledo is the clubhouse leader at 138 (-6).

The 54-hole, three-day event is taking place at the Rich Harvest Farms Gold Club (par 71; 7,236 yards). USD senior Joe Carlson, playing as an individual, shot 72 today and is tied for 27th overall at 149 (77-72). Rounding out USD team scoring is Alex Chiarella (t-59th at 156, 77-79), Taylor Schmidt (t-67th at 158, 81-77), Mathias Dahl (t-67th at 158, 83-75) and Will Twitty (t-75th at 161, 82-79).
