(Seaside, Calif.) - The USD golf team is tied for 6th with one round to go at the Saint Mary's Invitational (15 teams) being played in Seaside, California on the Bayonet & Blackhorse Golf Courses. USD junior Grant Forrest is tied for 1st (104 golfers) after he fired rounds of 71-69 (140) for a 4-under par total. He is tied with Cal's Michael Weaver (70-70) with the Cal Bears leading the tournament at 570 (-6). The final 18 holes will begin tomorrow at 8am.

Rounding out USD scoring was Alex Chiarella (T30 at 149; 77-72), Taylor Schmidt (T41 at 151; 78-73), Joe Carlson (T41 at 151; 78-73) and Skyler Finnell (T90 at 158; 83-75). USD freshman Nick Baines, playing as an individual, shot rounds of 81-85. After opening with a 304 team total the Toreros rallied in the afternoon with a solid 287.
