SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego, under the direction of head coach Cory Scoggin (3rd year, 7th overall with program), will host the 2014 The Farms Collegiate Invitational this coming Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 10 & 11). The two-day tournament will be held at The Farms Golf Club (par 72; 6,947 yards) in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. and will be free to the public.

Joining the Toreros will be eleven teams, including five from the West Coast Conference - Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Saint Mary's College, San Francisco and Santa Clara. Rounding out the field are teams from Denver, Duke, Fresno State, Kennesaw State, UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara.

On Monday 36 holes will be played with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start, with 18 holes planned for Tuesday beginning at 8:00 a.m. with groups teeing off holes No. 1 and No. 10. The format will include five players for each team with the low four scores counting toward the team score every round. Live Scoring can be found at USDToreros.com or GolfStat.com

The Toreros finished fourth (out of 12 teams) at this event last year. Pacific won the team title (872, +8) while Emilio Cuartero of Missouri earned medalist honors (215, -1). This will be the Toreros first event of the spring season. The Toreros last played on November 6th at the Warrior-Wave Intercollegiate in Hawaii, where they finished tenth. Grant Forrest was the team's top finisher with an 11th place showing (208, -8).
