Forrest Earns Spot on PING All-West Region Team

NORMAN, Okla. - USD men's golfer Grant Forrest (North Berwick, Scotland) was one of 27 student- athletes named to the 2013-14 PING Division I All-West Region team as announced Thursday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). With his first career selection, the Torero junior is now eligible for PING All-America consideration. Overall, a total of 14 schools were represented in the West, while 157 total players were honored across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West.

The 2014 West Coast Conference Golfer of the Year, Forrest was selected to the San Antonio NCAA Regional, but did not advance to Nationals. Currently with a national ranking of 81st, Forrest averaged 71.2 over 39 rounds this season. He won medalist honors at three tournaments - Saint Mary's Invitational, The Farms Collegiate Invitational and the Redhawk Invitational. This coming June he'll compete in the prestigious Palmer Cup and play for the Europe team.
