(St Andrews, Fife, Scotland) - This past weekend (June 6-8), USD golfer Grant Forrest (North Berwick, Scotland) won the prestigious St Andrews Links Trophy on the Old Course. Forrest carded rounds of 66-68-73-71 (-9, 278) and beat out countryman Bradley Neil on the first playoff hole with a 25 foot birdie.
"Walking down the 18th at the Old Course is always special," said Grant Forrest. "To win against this international field is really special."
The World Amateur Golf Rankings rates the St Andrews Links Trophy as one of the strongest amateur tournaments in the world, based on the strength of the field, and it is arguably one of the strongest outside the Amateur Championship in the UK.
