SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 overtime loss at San Francisco Friday evening at Negoesco Stadium. Miguel Aguilar scored the game-winner for the Dons (6-7-2, 3-3-1) in the 92nd minute. This was the eighth overtime contest of the season for USD, as the Toreros fell to 4-7-4 and 0-4-3 in WCC play.
USD got off to a fast start by outshooting USF 7-1 in the first half. The Torero offense kept pressure on all night long, but USD was unable to capitalize off a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks on the night and a 12-7 edge overall in shots.
Both teams were locked in a scoreless showdown when Aguilar delivered his game-winner shortly into the overtime period when he collected a rebound off another USF shot and scored from the top of the box.
Torero keeper Michael D'Arrigo (4-6-4) tallied four saves on the night, while USF keeper Connor Gaal (5-2-0) made six saves in the game.
USD looks to bounce back at Saint Mary's on Sunday when they kickoff at 2 pm versus the Gaels.
