SAN BRUNO, Calif. - University of San Diego junior midfielder Elijah Galbraith-Knapp has been named West Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday morning. Galbraith-Knapp recorded goals in both of USD's victories this past week, including a game-winner in the Toreros' 2-0 defeat of Ohio State on Sept. 7th. In that contest, Galbraith-Knapp took a feed from Patrick Wallen on the outside and chipped it over the Buckeye keeper for his first goal of the season.

He then followed that up with an insurance goal in the 54th minute on Sept. 9th in a 2-0 shutout of Houston Baptist in which he corralled a rebound off the keeper and slipped it into an empty net for his team-leading second goal of the year. Altogether, Galbraith-Knapp registered six shots between the two contests, including five shots on goal.

This is Galbraith-Knapp's first player of the week honor of his career and the first Torero to take home player of the week recognition since Sam Reeder in 2009.

Galbraith-Knapp and the Toreros take on No. 9 UC Santa Barbara at Torero Stadium on Friday, Sept. 14th at 7:30 pm.
