SAN DIEGO, Calif. - USD sophomore forward Torrey DeArmas was named the West Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week on Monday. DeArmas (Escondido, Calif.) netted a pair of goals on the weekend in helping the Toreros to back-to-back WCC victories.

In the Toreros' 3-1 win over Gonzaga on Friday, DeArmas scored an unassisted goal in the 5th minute to put the game out of reach early and cap off a wild start to the match in which USD scored three goals in the first six minutes of action. DeArmas followed that with the game-winner in USD's 4-1 win over Portland on Sunday, breaking a 1-1 tie in the 81st minute. The goals were DeArmas' third and fourth of the season.

Overall on the year, DeArmas is tied for second on the team with four goals and has an assist for nine points. He is also second on the team in shots (30) this season.

This was the first time DeArmas has earned a WCC Player of the Week honor in his career and he is the second Torero to take home the award this season after Connor Brandt earned it on Oct. 28.
