USD is making their 13th overall trip to the NCAA Tournament and first since 2009 when the Toreros lost to No. 5 UC Santa Barbara 1-0 in the first round at USD.
The Toreros won their first WCC title since 2009 with a 2-0 shutout at home over Saint Mary's in their second-to-last regular season game on Nov. 9.
Head coach Seamus McFadden was named WCC Coach of the Year for the eighth time in his career. USD also had10 players selected to the All-WCC teams- three first-teamers, three second-teamers, three honorable mentions and one All-Freshman selection.
Sr. F Patrick Wallen was named West Coast Conference Player of the Month for the month of October. He scored five goals in USD's six wins during the month and added an assist.
Wallen moved into a tie for fourth place among USD's all-time goal scorers when he scored his 28th career goal in USD's 2-1 win over San Francisco on Oct. 26. Wallen is tied with Leighton O'Brien (1995-98). Wallen also took over seventh place all-time in USD history in career points- he now has 66 points in his career.
The Toreros won eight games in a row from Sept. 30-Nov. 2, their longest winning streak since an 11-gamer in 2003.
RS-So. GK Drew Ilijevski won his first eight starts in goal this season after taking over as the starter at Saint Mary's on Sept. 30. His first loss came at Portland this past on Nov. 4.
Ilijevski (3.49 GPA) was named WCC All-Academic and Capital One Academic All-Region 8.

Notables: Cal State Northridge won the Big West Conference this year... CSUN is ranked 25th in the NSCAA Top-25... Notables: UCLA won the Pac-12 championship this season and is ranked No. 4 in the NSCAA national rankings... UCLA and USD met last season in San Diego with the Bruins pulling out a 1-0 overtime win... The Bruins are outscoring opponents 31-18 overall this season and 13-4 in the first half... UCLA played five ranked opponents this season and went 2-1-2 in those matches.
USD IN THE DANCE: The Toreros are 8-11-1 all-time in 12 previous appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Their most recent appearance came in 2009 with a 1-0 first-round loss to UC Santa Barbara. USD's best finish in team history came in 1992 when the Toreros lost to Virginia 2-0 in the NCAA title game. USD has advanced past the first round on five occasions.
HISTORY REPEATED: The Toreros have faced Big West opponents on five different occasions in the NCAA Tournament but this will be the first time they meet Cal State Northridge in the postseason. USD previously lost twice to UC Santa Barbara (2002 & 2009) and defeated Cal State Fullerton (1998) and lost to Fullerton twice (1993 & 1994).
NAIL IN THE COFFIN: The Toreros won their seventh WCC title with a 2-0 victory over Saint Mary's at home on Nov. 9, clinching the championship in their second-to-last regular season game. Sr. M Dan Delgado scored the game-winner in that contest, while Fr. M Torrey DeArmas added the insurance goal.
HONOR ROLL: Head coach Seamus McFadden was named WCC Coach of the Year for the eighth time in his career, while 10 Toreros were selected to the All-WCC teams. Sr. M Dan Delgado, Sr. F Patrick Wallen and Sr. M James Cohn each earned first-team honors. Sr. M Christian Duke, Jr. M Elijah Galbraith-Knapp and RS-Jr. D Julian Ringhof were named to the second team, while Sr. M Conor McFadden, RS-So. GK Drew Ililjevski and Sr. D Matt Chavez were honorable mention selections. Fr. M Torrey DeArmas was named to the All-Freshman team. USD's six first- and second-team selections were tied for the second-most in team history.
SENIOR SEND OFF: This year's nine-member senior class were freshmen the last time the Toreros advanced to the postseason. in 2009.
OCTOBER'S BEST: Sr. F Patrick Wallen was named WCC Player of the Month for the month of October. His five goals during the month helped USD go 6-0-0 in October. Wallen scored in three straight games at one point and notched two game winners.
STEPPING ON THE GAS: The Toreros outscored their opponents 22-14 in WCC play. That is a stark contrast to their non-conference slate in which USD was outscored 14-6. USD's 22 goals in WCC play led the conference. In their 4-3 win over Portland on Oct. 5, USD established a season high in goals (4) and points (12) and tied their season high with 19 shots in the contest.
LEAVING HIS MARK: Sr. F Patrick Wallen entered the 2012 campaign tied for seventh in USD history in career goals scored and moved into a tie for fourth all-time with his 28th career goal on Oct. 26. Wallen had a career-high 12 goals in 2010 and scored three goals in 2011. USD's all-time leader in goals scored is Guillermo Jara, who scored 51 goals from 1992-95.
CARPE DIEM: RS-So. GK Drew Ilijevski, RS-So. F Sergio Lopez and Fr. M Torrey DeArmas have made the most out of their opportunities to climb into the starting lineup. Ilijevski took over as the starter in goal on Sept. 30 and proceeded to collect wins in his first eight starts, while going on to be an All-WCC honorable mention selection. Lopez has started every game since Sept. 30 after opening the season on the bench and was named WCC Player of the Week on Oct. 8. Meanwhile, DeArmas joined the starting lineup at the beginning of WCC play and has two goals and an assist as a WCC All-Freshman team honoree.
