SAN DIEGO, Calif. - University of San Diego senior midfielder Dan Delgado was named West Coast Conference Player of the Month as well as the San Diego Hall of Champions Star of the Month for the month of November. Delgado scored four goals and added five assists during the month of November to help lead the Toreros to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in school history.

Delgado (Escondido, Calif.) scored a goal in the Toreros' final three regular-season conference matchups, including his game-winner against Saint Mary's on Nov. 9 to help the Toreros clinch the WCC championship and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Delgado then scored a crucial goal with 66 seconds left in the first-round matchup forcing overtime and eventually led to the game-winner that he assisted on in the 103rd minute, making USD's historic tournament run possible.

He followed up the heroic performance with three assists in the Toreros' 5-2 upset of No. 6 UCLA in the second round.

This was Delgado's first player of the month honor of his career and the second consecutive Torero to earn player of the month recognition following Patrick Wallen, who was the WCC's October player of the month. Delgado was a first-team All-WCC selection this year for the second straight year.

Delgado and the Toreros had their season come to an end with a 3-1 loss at Georgetown in the NCAA quarterfinals on Dec. 1. USD finished with a 14-9-0 overall record and a 9-3-0 mark in WCC play.
