Finished his career with the most doubles wins (77) in USD history and tied for the most singles wins (100)... Went 22-10 overall in singles with a team-high 15 dual singles victories... Played exclusively at the No. 1 spot, going 15-7 and 7-1 in WCC matches... Went 6-8 against ranked opponents... Won a team-high 22 doubles matches and went 16-5 in dual matches at the No. 1 with Filip Vittek... His 19 doubles wins with Filip Vittek were the fifth-most in USD history for a duo in a season... Went a perfect 8-0 in doubles matches against WCC opponents... Went 3-4 against ranked doubles teams... WCC Player of the Week in singles and doubles (with Filip Vittek) on April 22, 2014... Junior (2012-13):Named 1st Team All-WCC in singles and 2nd Team in doubles... Named WCC Player of the Month in doubles (w/ Thibaut Visy) for Nov. 2012... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.11 GPA... Led the team with a 27-10 overall singles record and was second on the team with a 20-10 overall doubles mark... Went 21-6 in dual singles playing primarily at No. 3 (12-4)... Also went 8-2 at the No. 2 slot... Finished the season with a then career-high No. 65 singles ranking on June 5... Teamed with Thibaut Visy to post a team-best 20-8 doubles record on the year, going 13-6 at the No. 1 spot... Their 20 wins was the 4th-most in USD history for a doubles pair in a single season... In doubles, defeated then-No. 7 Jarryd Botha & David Vieyra of Alabama in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (May 10)... Teamed with Visy to win the doubles championship at the Battle In the Bay Classic in the fall... Among his five singles wins over ranked opponents on the year, he defeated then-No. 12 Marcos Giron of UCLA (Feb. 5) and then-No. 16 Ray Sarmiento of USC (May 11)... During the fall, advanced to the finals of the SoCal Intercollegiate Championships... Went 6-4 overall in singles during the fall and 6-2 in doubles.
Sophomore (2011-12):Named 2nd Team All-WCC in singles... Compiled a 23-11 overall singles record and an 18-7 dual singles record... Played primarily at No. 3 in the singles lineup... Went 14-10 overall in doubles and 9-8 in dual doubles splitting time between No. 2 and No. 3 in the doubles lineup... Won eight consecutive singles matches from Apr. 14 to May 12... During the fall, went 5-4 in singles while competing in the ITA All-American Championships, Battle in the Bay and the ITA Southwestern Regionals... Ranked as high as No. 67 in the ITA preseason rankings (Sept. 9)... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.06 GPA.
Freshman (2010-11): Compiled a 28-6 overall singles record and a 21-3 dual singles mark playing primarily at No. 4... Recorded the best dual singles record ever by a USD freshman and tied for the most singles wins by a freshman in USD history... Named WCC Freshman of the Year, becoming the third Torero to ever earn that honor... Also earned second-team All-WCC honors in singles and doubles (w/ Thibaut Visy)... Named WCC Player of the Month for singles for the month of April... Posted a 12-match singles winning streak from February 5th to March 25th... Earned his first-career Campbell/ITA singles ranking at No. 85 on March 1st and had his highest ranking at No. 82 on March 15th... Won all of his matches (two in singles and two in doubles) in the WCC Championships in helping the Toreros secure their first WCC title since 1990... Had two singles wins against ranked opponents, including a 6-4, 6-3 defeat of Tennessee's Matteo Fago, then-ranked No. 38, on January 28th... In doubles, teamed primarily with Thibaut Visy at No. 3, putting up a17-8 record as a pair and a 21-10 doubles record overall... Paired with Visy to defeat BYU's Spencer Smith and Roman Warias 8-3 on May 13 in helping the Toreros win their first NCAA Championship match since 1990... During the fall, went 6-3 in singles while competing in the SDSU Fall Tournament (San Diego, CA), the ITA Southwestern Regionals (Irvine, CA), and the SoCal Intercollegiates (Los Angeles, CA)... Was named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll after posting a 3.17 GPA.
High School/Junior: Attended Claremont H.S....Blue Chip recruit according to tennisrecruiting.net...is considered one of the 10 best prospects according to tennisrecruiting.net...ranked in the top 20 of the United States Tennis Association (USTA)...was among the top 5 in the Southern California section...three-time league champion in the Baseline League... competed three years in the CIF playoffs, reaching the quarterfinals twice and the semifinals during his junior campaign.
Personal: Born Jun. 17, 1992 in Claremont, Calif....parents are Tom and Kris Spinosa...chose USD because of the great coaches, great school, and outstanding weather...also recruited by USC and Michigan...notes that he loves to go to the beach.
