LA JOLLA, Calif. - The No. 62 University of San Diego men's tennis team (3-4) fell to No. 2 (10-1) USC 6-0 Thursday afternoon at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

The Toreros struggled in singles against a Trojan squad that includes senior stand-out No. 6 Ray Sarmiento, No. 43 Jonny Wang, and No. 80 Roberto Quiroz. The Trojans got their first win at the No. 4 where Max de Vroome beat Filip Vittek 6-2, 6-1 and followed that up with a 6-2, 6-2 for Rob Bellamy over Aaron Addison.

The Trojans would take the next four singles matches as well: No. 43 Jonny Wang defeated Ciaran Fitzgerald 6-2, 6-3, Connor Farren took down Romain Kalaydjian 6-3, 6-4, No. 6 Ray Sarmiento beat No. 61 Clarke Spinosa 6-4, 6-4, and No. 80 Roberto Quiroz narrowly outlasted Uros Petronijevic 4-6, 6-1, 7-5.

The Toreros continue play over the weekend at the 125th annual Pacific Coast Doubles Championship in La Jolla, Calif. This event has a long history of tradition, featuring top doubles teams from across the country. See the draw here
