Toreros fall to Fresno Pacific 4-3

(San Diego, CA) - The USD men's tennis team dropped a hard fought 4-3 decision to visiting Fresno Pacific University today. USD won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, but dropped four of six singles matches. Senior Thomas Liversage downed Matt Carroll at No. 1 singles (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) and freshman Dean Jackson earned a straight set 6-2, 7-6 win over Vicente Joli at No. 2. In doubles play, Liversage and Charl Wolmarans earned a 9-8 (5) win at No. 1 to clinch the doubles point. Jackson and Nils Schive teamed up at No. 2 doubles for an easy 8-2 win over Marco Foelz & Victor Medina. USD, which was playing without Chris Coetzee, is now 5-5 on the season.
