TULSA, Okla. - University of San Diego men's tennis players Thibaut Visy and Clarke Spinosa wrapped up play at the ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Visy and Spinosa each played a singles consolation match on the day as well as their first round qualifying doubles contest.
In doubles, Visy and Spinosa lost 8-5 to Brandon Fickey and Edward Jones of Tennessee. Singles action saw Visy, ranked No. 91, come out with a victory to close out his competition in the tournament as he topped No. 102 David Hopkins of Wake Forest by a score of 2-6, 7-6(4), 6-2.
No. 119 Spinosa was defeated by BYU's Patrick Kawka, who is ranked No. 75, 6-1, 6-2.
Visy, Spinosa and the rest of the Toreros will continue their fall schedule at the SDSU Fall Invite Oct. 5-7 at the Aztec Tennis Center.
