Toreros Have Success on Day Two of SDSU Fall Invite

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's tennis team notched another day of competition at the SDSU Fall Invite on Saturday afternoon from the Aztec Tennis Center. The Toreros captured six singles wins on the day.

Andrew Raphaelson posted a 6-7, 6-2, 6-1 victory over UCSD's Guibilato in the singles "B" consolation draw.

JP Boyd was upended in the semifinals of the singles "A" Flight by DeVroome of USC, 6-1, 6-3. Meanwhile, Jakob Karnopp defeated Truong of UCSD by a score of 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 and Garrett Taylor fell to Miller of Sacramento State 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles, Raphaelson/Taylor earned a 8-4 win over Brandys/Raag of Sacramento State in the consolation flight and advanced to Sunday's consolation final after Kirby/Smith defaulted due to injury.

Boyd/Karnopp dropped their consolation match to Luu/Porutiu of UCSD 8-6, while Clarke Spinosa, Thibaut Visy, Ciaran Fitzgerald and Romain Kalaydjian all posted singles wins in the Open Draw.

USD concludes the SDSU Fall Invite on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center.
