Sophomore Nicola Bubnic remains undefeated in tournament

(Irvine, Calif.) - The USD men's tennis team completed their second day of play at the UC Irvine Invitational today, playing at the Anteater Tennis Center in Irvine, CA. San Diego pulled in six singles wins and swept its doubles competition against Azusa Pacific University. Sophomore Nikola Bubnic and junior transfer Abdullah Hashem (Fullerton College) remained undefeated for the tournament, winning both their singles morning and afternoon contests as well as their doubles match. Bubnic racked up wins against Mathias Weber of Azusa Pacific (6-2,7-6) and Mathieu Forget of UCSB (6-4,4-6,6-1), while Hashem pulled in victories against UC Riverside's Sean Peterson (6-2, 6-1) and Nick Von der Ahe of LMU, 7-6,6-3.
San Diego is back in action tomorrow beginning at 9 a.m. to wrap up tournament play.
