MALIBU, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's tennis team wrapped up play at the ITA Regionals in Malibu, Calif. on Sunday. The Toreros had four players competing in both single and doubles.

Uros Petronijevic, who is ranked No. 119, advanced all the way to the Round of 16 in singles before falling to UCLA's 45th ranked Denis Mkrtchian 7-5, 6-1. Petronijevic defeated Pepperdine's Alex Solonin 6-4, 6-0 and USC's Max De Vroome 6-1, 6-1 before falling to Mkrtchian.

Andrew Raphaelson played his best tennis of the fall season, winning his first two singles matches before falling to USC's 58th ranked Eric Johnson in the Round of 32. Raphaelson knocked off Cal Poly's Devin Barber 6-3, 6-2 and San Diego State's Jonas Meinzer 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 in the first two rounds.

Raphaelson also made a splash in doubles with Petronijevic, filling in for Clarke Spinosa, who was a late scratch. Raphaelson and Petronijevic made it to the doubles quarterfinals before running into a tough matchup with USC's Eric Johnson and Max De Vroome, which they lost 8-3. Before losing, they had earned victories over Grand Canyon's Arjun Bal and Felix Schueller (8-7) and Cal Poly's Devin Barber and Corey Pang (8-4).

Ciaran Fitzgerald lost his opening round singles match to USC's No. 25 Roberto Quiroz, the tournament's No. 4 seed, 6-1, 6-3. However, Fitzgerald made a run in the consolation bracket, advancing all the way to the quarterfinals before losing to Arizona's Fredrik Ask 6-1, 6-4. Fitzgerald beat UC Santa Barbara's Erik Johnson 7-5, 6-2 and UC Irvine's Caryl Hernandez 7-5, 6-2 in the first two rounds of consolation.

Romain Kalaydjian also fell in the opening round of singles, losing to UCLA Gage Brymer 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Kalaydjian recovered to defeat Hawaii's David Schuster 6-3, 6-3 before losing to UC Santa Barbara's Sasha Gryazanov 6-4, 3-6, 10-1 in the second round of singles consolation.

Kalaydjian and Fitzgerald fell in the first round of doubles to Cal Poly's Ben Donovan and Matt Thomson 8-6.

The Toreros return to action November 6 for the Southern California Intercollegiates in Los Angeles.
