Toreros Compete At All-Amerian

(Chattanooga, TN) -- USD sophomore Pierrick Ysern (Paris, France), ranked 59th in the nation, won his first match in the qualifying round of the 2003 Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ysern defeated New Mexico's David Kowalski, 7-6 (4), 6-2. He'll now face Tommy Hanus of Northwestern on Tuesday.

The USD doubles team of Nic Beuque (Paris, France) and Jeff Das (Fullerton, CA), who advanced through prequalifying with three victories, lost their first round qualifying match today to Miami's Tim Krebs & Colin Purcell, 8-6.
