The Toreros Race at Titan Invitational
Justin Brown-Pinizzoto

Oct. 26, 2013

Fullerton, Calif. - Friday night sunset racing is not a standard for cross country racing, but it was an excellent setting to send off three senior Torero racers. Jessica McCarthy, Victoria Hambley and Rudy Mendoza all raced at Cal State Fullerton. McCarthy raced to a season best with a time of 19:34, while Hambley powered through a personal best at 21:47. Mendoza finished his men's race in just under 29 minutes.

"It was great to see our Torero distance family unite and support them for as much these three have done to represent and advance our program new heights," said USD assistant coach Kirsten Allan.

The Torero women were paced by Olivia Houser, who set a personal best mark of 19:09. While on the men's side, they were guided by junior Justin Brown-Pinizzoto, who also set a personal best mark.

The tables quickly turn to championship season as the Toreros close on their last week of preparation for their WCC Championship race in Malibu, Calif. On Nov. 2.
