All three Torero squads captured top-five finishes in last week's Aztec Invitational

South Bend, Ind. - The University of San Diego cross country team is hoping for some luck of the Irish when they participate in the 55th running of the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, October 1st at the nine-hole Notre Dame Golf Course.
The men will be running an eight-kilometer race, while the women will be running a five-kilometer. This will be USD's first appearance ever at the Notre Dame Invitational. This race will have a national field of teams from throughout the country including American University, Arizona State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Princeton, Tulsa, Valparaiso, Washington, Western Michigan and Youngstown State University.
"This is an exciting meet for both USD men's and women's teams," said Will Guarino, head coach of the two cross-country squads. "Both groups have had great training weeks and are eager to race at a school with such history as Notre Dame."
In this week's Cross Country Coaches' Poll, a number of the participating schools are receiving national attention. On the men's side, Oregon is ranked third, Arizona State is ranked 17th and Princeton is 24th. While on the women's side, Oregon is ranked fifth. Princeton is ninth and the host Irish is 26th.
