• TLC Donate-a-Dollar and Holiday Toy Drive...


    SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of San Diego Athletic Department, The College of Arts and Sciences, The School of Business, The Human Resources Office, The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), student-athletes and Torero fans helped make the 13th Annual Toreros Linking to the Community (TLC) Toy Drive and Donate-a-Dollar program another huge success.

    San Diego lost Junior Seau in May 2012, but his presence in the city remains. The Junior Seau Foundation is carrying on his legacy by continuing to host its annual "Shop with a Jock" at the Target in Mission Valley. Shop with a Jock is a holiday tradition and community event benefiting San Diego kids. The evening began with a dinner buffet, music and a dance competition among the kids for bicycles. Once inside Target, children were provided a shopping bag and with no time to waste were on a holiday shopping spree searching for gifts.

  • USD Launches Student-Athlete Mentor Program


    The Torero Varsity Association launched a mentoring program Tuesday evening, which pairs Torero athlete alums with current student-athletes to promote personal and professional development in preparation for life after graduation. The student athletes met their mentors and took part in a few exercises to establish expectations for the mentoring relationship.

    SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- USD senior Kyle Miller (Saratoga, Calif.), a member of the Torero football team, was recognized by the West Coast Conference and institutional Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) groups with this year's male sportsmanship award at the WCC Honors Dinner last Thursday, June 5th at Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah.
