SOPHOMORE (2016-17)

Appeared in 10 games off the bench... scored a career-high seven points in the season opener against Cal State Fullerton (11/11/16).

FRESHMAN (2015-16)

Played in five games as a reserve guard for the Toreros...helped lead USD to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT... helped lead the team to its fifth consecutive 20-win season... scored two points against Hope (12/15/15).


Prepped at Lake Washington High School...where she was a standout on the girl's basketball team...she helped lead the team to back-to-back postseason appearances, in both her sophomore and junior seasons...she is a two-time first-team All-KingCo selection, and was the KingCo assist leader as a her junior season, she averaged 14.4 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 4.9 assists-per-game, and 2.7 steals-per-game, while helping guide her team into the Final 8 of the state tournament, by winning five of their final six games, including knocking off the No. 2 ranked team in the state..the Final 8 was the highest finish for a Lake Washington girls' team since her sophomore season, she averaged 10.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.0 APG, and 2.0 SPG, and helped guide her team to the 2A District playoffs.


Sydney Kelly Shepard was born on Aug. 18, 1997 in Gilroy, Calif....she is the daughter of Cory Shepard and Karen Shepard...she was also recruited by Idaho State, Santa Clara, Portland State, Seattle, Seattle Pacific, and Chicago...chose to attend USD because she would have the opportunity to attend a university with competitive academics and athletics...she also fell in love with the campus on an unofficial visit, and then really felt at home with the athletes and coaching staff on her official visit...comes from an athletic family, as her dad, Cory Shepard, played Basketball and Track at the College of Notre Dame, Foothill College, and Whitman College, her uncle, Don Moore, played football at Gavilan College, and Chico State University.
