Wischer Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Senior forward Klara Wischer of the University of San Diego women's basketball team has been tabbed the West Coast Conference Player of the Week, there conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Wischer helped pace the Toreros to a perfect 2-0 record this past week, with wins over the University of Portland and Pepperdine University. Wischer paced the team's offense with an average of 15.0 ppg, and 7.0 rebounds-per-game, while also averaging 6.0 assists-per-game. Wischer began the week with a 13-point performance, on 6-of-10 shooting, while pulling down seven boards in the win over Portland. She then followed that up with a well rounded performance against Pepperidne, in which she scored 15 points, had seven rebounds and dished out a career-high eight assists. Overall, Wischer is averaging 7.1 ppg, and leads the team with 7.6 rebounds-per-game.

Wischer and the Toreros will return to action on Thursday as they host Santa Clara University in a 7 p.m. WCC game inside the friendly confines of the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
